Oh HAPPY Day!!!

drewlitton.com

The boys are back in school! YAY! I love having them home, but it was time. IT. WAS. TIME. I can hardly get a load of laundry done without "SO AND SO SAID THIS...SO AND SO DID THIS." What is with the constant competition of two boys close in age anyway? They either play so well together you would think God blessed you with the very best children from heaven, or you are pretty sure they are feral children.

Either way - I get a couple hours back to myself when the baby takes a nap. What to do you ask? I have a few projects swirling around in my head but I figured I would make a list of what I want to get done in 2012 (assuming perfect nap times with no interruptions - like cleaning the house. folding laundry. cleaning bathrooms.)

1. The Yard- it's looking pretty shabby. This is what I envision

This is what I have

Well. Maybe not really. But that's what it feels like during the depth of winter. Hoping for some major progress in 2012.
(Check out  http://uglyhousephotos.com/wordpress/ . It will automatically make you feel good about what you have going on in your own home!)

2. Organization:
I've seen some really inspiring spaces on other blogs. I'm just hoping they are like me and shove all the junk out of the picture. I'm pretty sure they don't though. I have a lot of work to do in the garage too. So let's make that it's own number 3.

3. Garage

It's bad. Maybe not "Hoarders" bad...but it's a 3 car garage. And I can squeeze 1 in at an angle. Uh huh. Don't judge.

4. Get creative: I have been itching to make a sunburst mirror (out of shims), a subway sign, and paint the front of my kitchen island (the back and sides have been refaced with beadboard - but painting the actual cabinets part gives me hives).

5. Tackle the office. Oh it's a pit. I repainted it last summer, but there it sits, completely bleh. And the worst part is it has 2 glass doors so I see it everytime I walk in the door (which is why I started to use the garage). It's not pretty.

That's the list so far.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will become a follower :) Have a great week. I'm off to kinect-ersize.

  1. My New Years's Resolution is to have a clean, organized, and not a million undone projects happening at once. I'm planning on making a HUGE subway art picture - just haven't figured out all the details yet. But I had to go back to school today so it's all going to be a long process. We've got to get together again soon! Rana
